Our Commitment
Feistritzer Heating & Air Conditioning is committed to providing a website that is accessible to the widest possible audience, including people who use keyboards, screen readers, captions, and other assistive technologies. Accessibility is part of how we serve Danville, Harrodsburg, Stanford, Lancaster, Junction City, and surrounding communities — online the same way we show up on a service call.
Standards
We aim to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 Level AA where practicable. That includes perceivable content, operable navigation, understandable information, and robust code that works with current assistive technologies.
What We've Built In
- Skip links to jump to main content and the site footer
- Keyboard-accessible navigation (click-first desktop menus that stay open while focused; focus-trapped mobile drawer), APG radiogroup / tab patterns on the home diagnosis and repair-path tools, and operable forms
- Visible focus indicators (3px brand outline; white outline on dark / signal panels)
- Semantic landmarks, ordered headings (including footer section titles), breadcrumbs, and descriptive link / button labels
- Text alternatives for meaningful images; decorative media marked so it is ignored by assistive tech
- Respect for reduced motion — smooth scrolling disabled, scroll reveals simplified, credential logos shown in a static grid (no auto-scrolling marquee), and a visible Pause control on the review spotlight auto-rotate
- Touch targets sized for mobile Call / Schedule actions and primary controls (≥44×44px where practical)
- Contrast-conscious UI — Call CTAs use a deeper signal red so white text meets WCAG AA; muted body and footer/nav text raised above AA floors on paper and indigo panels
- Consent and privacy controls operable by keyboard and announced to assistive tech
- Map embeds titled for context, plus a text “Open in Google Maps” link and phone alternative beside the iframe
Known Limitations
Some third-party embeds (for example map iframes or embedded media) and older PDF or manufacturer documents may not meet the same standard as our primary pages. If you encounter a barrier — including on Learning Center articles or forms — tell us and we will help with an alternative format or a phone walkthrough.
